Create a Realistic Chalkboard in Photoshop

This tutorial will show you how to create a realistic chalkboard in Photoshop.

01. Open a new document and fill it with any color of your wish.

02. Take the Recatangle tool and draw first shape of your chalkboard.

03. Double click on your new shape layer (Window – Layers) and go to Gradient Overlay. There set the angle to 0, style to linear and set the color edges being darger and the middle lighter shade. Then go to Outer glow and add a small glow outside of your shape. Press OK.

04. Create a new layer (Layer – New – Layer) and select both of your layers by holding Ctrl down. Then right click on the layers and choose Merge layers.

05. Then go to Filter, Artistic and choose Paint Daubs and set the bars accordingly. Press OK.

06. Pick the Rectangle Tool again and draw another shape in the middle of your previous one.

07. Double click on your new rectangle layer and go to Gradient Overlay, set the style to Radial and color from one green to another. Then go to Inner Glow and set a black inner shadow on your chalkboard. Dont close the window yet.

08. Then go to Stroke, set the Fill type to Gradient, angle to 0 and set a small 1px stroke around your board. Press OK.

09. Take the Type tool, choose a font that looks like handwriting and insert your text with white color.

And your chalkboard is ready to use!
